**Important Escort Boat Information** 

All teams are responsible for obtaining their own escort boats. *We advise SCORA teams who are racing more than 3 crews to acquire a back up escort in the event that there is equipment failure.* Without making any guarantee, Offshore Canoe Club will try to assist visiting teams from outside of California to locate an escort. Once you have secured an escort, YOU MUST SUBMIT their Escort Boat Registration form with their name, phone number, address, boat name, length, make and color, etc. by September 5 to Gary Clevenger

 

2009 Catalina Channel Crossing

US Championships

More than 1,000 canoe paddlers from around the globe are going to be competing in the 2009 Catalina Channel Crossing US Championships the weekend of September 12 and 13, 2009. 

On Saturday (9/12), the Catalina Channel Crossing US Championships Wahine and Open Coed Race is a 27-mile open ocean race that launches from Newport Harbor, Newport Beach and ends at Casino Point, Avalon Catalina. 

On Sunday (9/13), the Catalina Channel Crossing US Championships Kane and Masters Coed Race is a 31-mile open ocean race that launches from Lovers Cove, Catalina Island and ends at Newport Dunes, Newport Beach. 

Watch as the NAC Women, NAC Coed and Quiksilver/Lanakila Men defend their titles!

This year marks 50 years of paddling in California and the 50th Catalina Channel Crossing!
